The other side…

So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.

Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed.

When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

Matt 9:1-2

Don’t you know Jesus is on the other side

This time of the year is a great reminder for me as i remember that over two thousand years ago Jesus Christ was betrayed & crucified.
His testimony endures changing lives for ever.

My life is the bye product of his sacrifice which I’m honoured to be in my right mind right now.
I remember my early life experiences, then I thought I wouldn’t live long enough to see my thirties.

Why do you say that?

I had so much unresolved issues in my life & unresolved conflicts with people then.
Knowing Jesus now has changed my heart & out look to life.
Today I’m praising God i’m free no longer a prisoner within myself.
I’ve been empowered by his resurrection the hope that lives in my heart.
My life isn’t in the hands of men any more “My life is in the hands of a compassionate & forgiving God ” who lavished his Grace on me.

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,

In conclusion

What’s your thoughts about Christ?

How does the build up of events toward Christ crucifixion reinforces your present convictions?

Fellowship is life

Jesus taught…

Jesus taught his disciples how to pray which was a patten or example that teaches me today about what the priorities of prayer should be.
should prayer begin from the point of honouring the father to forgiven our neighbour even still our enemies looking towards our human needs being meet daily ~ Luke 11

Believers in Christ are considered as citizens of the kingdom of God under a new government which consist of liberating principles that govern community life which also reflects on others in that frame work.
what is seen in religious institutions can be far from the patten or model of a church without walls.
Jesus said ” The kingdom is within you
The kingdom doesn’t come by careful observation, Luke 17:20 what was jesus trying to say?

May be religious culture has taken our attention when the eternal principles of kingdom life should be the only structures unseen physically more like enriching in our hearts socially towards people we come into contact with?

So how does this principle of prayer connect with this kingdom concept?

I guess it goes back to what is priority in the sight of God.
What would you consider a priority people – places – institutions – buildings or things ?

Back to the point of prayer the most prominent word in The Lords prayer was the word “US ” when prayer is only me oriented then the boundaries of prayer are shortened.

The words of the prophet Isaiah

Isa 54:2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes.

As an example this scripture reminds me not to limit God but rather to prepare for the unexpected.

There are two stories comes to mind about prayer… One is Job and the other is Jabez…
What is so encouraging about their prayers was the fact that “change” of attitude change their own destiny.
When they prayed for the people far or wide in terms of the conflict they experience their request was granted.

In conclusion

Jesus mentions leadership over the evil one & his temptations against the people of God. The father promise he will keep us on this journey because he is alone the kingdom the Glory and all the power we need for ever…Amen.

Fellowship is life

Mamre was considered a good place, The place where Abraham & Sarah settled.
Mamre means “strength or fatness” could this be significant to Abrahams maturity with The Lord?
The mistake Abraham made in the early stages of his journey was about him moving on before the time, from the location The Lord showed him.

Mamre was a significant place in abraham’s journey after an encounter with God confirmed by covenant the result of his new found stability & friendship with God.

However being settled, not just in a geographical sense but in relationship with God is a great place to be.

Every place Abraham stop at was a reflection of his relational intervals with The Lord.

•Shechem the plain of Moreh = teacher

•Bethel = house of God

•Hebron = association

•Mamre = strength, fatness

This story in Gen 18 about the visitation and the fact that Abraham was more than willing to be of service to the three man show how receptive Abraham was as he received the knowledge about his offspring yet to be born this time next year.

Being settled in our heart knowing what we believe & value is the a great basis to be of service to others

The blessings of God doesn’t remain internally rather should reflect the goodness of God all around us as we engage in very facet of life.

Apart from Abrahams willingness to serve what else do you think stand out here?
Abraham discernment toward The Lord
wasn’t vague as he respond to his arrival saying “My Lord” After Abraham & Sarah his wife was informed about their son to be born one year from this time.
As the men departed only two had left but Abraham remain before The Lord as Abraham ponded carefully knowing his wife laughed being cynical.
Gen 18:22 Sarah’s response was a reflection how she considered herself in her old age while Abraham counted him faithfully who promised

In conclusion

What I want to take away from this story is the connection between faith & a servant heart. Serving shouldn’t be about recognition onto importance rather what we resonate out a life giving relationship with The Lord.

“Freely have you received so freely give”

Worship is…

Worship is the sphere i long for ~

A time to renounce “Things”

Discovering the love of God… once again.

The love of God surprises me, as i submit with a conscious mind, free will &….a renewed desire .

Worship is….

How I love The Lord

I love The Lord because he first loved me

Who would imagine he would become like you & me

I remember how he saved me from all that was destroying me

He reached a part of me no one couldn’t touch

My infirmities….

Hopelessness fades

Sad emotions past

He whispers ~ i despised the shame to set you free

For the joy set before me, i endured

Visualising one outcome

Loving you, as I cried

It’s finished ….

This poem was inspired by the most beautiful book i discovered over twenty two years ago ~ the bible

Quote heb 12:2
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our Faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We know in part.. Be wise how you share it

Now the Bereans were of more noble in character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Acts 17:11

I guess we know this story well enough to know Paul & silas arrived at the place called Berea spreading the massage of the gospel however when Paul arrived he saw object of worship and this inscription saying “To the unknown God

In Athens Greek philosophers admired and loved these idea’s and myths unfortunately with no substance to their idea’s the people trusted in object in relation to worship.

What I like about the apostles approach as he address the audience he said, adding to there belief…

Act 17:22 Then he stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.

The Apostle Paul empathised with the people as he spoke acknowledging their way of life. What i liked about this encounter was the fact Paul had also some thing to add to what they believed. However we must remember
how important it is to communicate truth with the right spirit which could determine how people respond.

Leadership & life coaching has taught me how important it is for me to add value to people through connecting

As Paul continues his speech
He says…

Act 17:23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

Adding to what the Berea’s knew only cause them to search the scripture all the more, checking if what he said was true.

To become so culturally root in any belief can be limiting because truth is eternal without any limits.
New ways of learning and thinking should be celebrated. I guess finding context or new context for any truth is powerful & life changing.

In conclusion

He sets aside the first to establish the second ~ Hebrews 10:9 This statement was referring to the legal requirements of the law no longer valid as he said ” sacrifices & offering I didn’t desire however & forever the system has been changed but the purpose of God remains the same….
