Living on the edge of your own sanity is a scary place to be.
Thinking about these time when marriages are failing, people losing there jobs, meeting the financial demands becoming a strain for some, also the tension between parents & children
unwilling to respect each other…
Is this the signs of our times?

Gen 17:1 When Abram was ninety nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty walk before me and be blameless

Twenty 24 years had passed and still no child. I couldn’t imagine what this couple were going through however I believe it was a relief to hear from the lord, as Abram fell face down as he was called once again & confirmed by The Lord.

Prior to this encounter Abram wasn’t walking right before The Lord hence why God required Abram to walk blameless before him.
A reminder for me ~ those low moment of my journey when The Lord picked me up with confidence to continue walking with him.

Gen Chapter 16 says it all.

Gen 17:4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the “father of many nations”

This visitation for Abram was a confirmation to establish the covenant The Lord had announced twenty four years ago.

How significant was this encounter as The Lord changed Abram’s name to Abraham the “father of many nations” and Sarai his wife to Sarah meaning a “noble women”

Was this a sign of grace in action or maturity being ushered forward by The Lord, from their past mistakes?

Gen 17:21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year .”

In conclusion

The sign of the covenant between God & Abraham was circumcision a great reminder of the promises of God for many generations to remember a reflection of our enjoyment in Christ Jesus ….
