The righteousness of faith

What do we understand about the righteousness of faith?
Sounds like The bye product of something, well I believe that’s right.
Righteousness doesn’t stand alone, it’s very much accompanied by the rest of the family faith, hope and love the substance of righteousness in Christ.

The example or patten to follow is through Abraham the man who experience the imputation of righteousness through faith. The apostle Paul used this example as a major reference in the book of Romans & Galatians to make very clear the righteousness of faith within the context of the New Testament believers
:Rom 10:4

Rom 4:1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter?

Rom 4:2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about but not before God.

Rom 4:3 What does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Now check out the contrast…

Rom 4:4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.

Rom 4:5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Rom 4:6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

I guess the whole confusion is based on the righteousness of the law of Moses ~ against the righteousness of faith in Jesus Christ.

So which one do we live by?

The righteousness that lead to works must be the fruit of our faith not the means of acceptance or justification before God neither in the sight of man. This form of righteousness can be classified as self righteousness.

The loving God who called Abraham, lead him to believe then impute his own righteousness in him, fully justified and in good standing with God.

These words like righteousness , justification ~ faith are relational term to separate them by works of human effort undermine the purpose of the faith which the father gives freely

In conclusion

We are told & instructed in scripture to pursue righteousness also to hunger & thirst for it 1Tim 6:11
So what are actually pursuing ~ relationship and intimacy with God or works of righteousness fuelled by a slight misunderstanding .
