Abrahamic journey pt2

Gen 12:9 Then Abraham set out and continued toward the Negev.
Gen 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abraham went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.

Abram the name he was known by before the lord made a covenant with him, before he came into the revelation of the nature of God.
On his journey he made some mistakes, this learning curve was apart of the process for Abram to see himself & God revealing his nature, The God who supplies sustains & keeps his promises.

So what when wrong?

Well first of all I believe Abram
Didn’t conceive the thought of what God was trying to show him about the land to his seed as God appeared before and said

Gen 12:7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

The second thing a famine was a new experience for Abram considering where he came from his fathers wealthy country. Abram through this experience of famine decides to continued south towards Egypt only to lie about his wife being his sister “Abram was afraid”
If you think about it, was it God behind the famine indicating that Abram was going off track.

After leaving Egypt abram returning back to the place the lord showed him “bethel” which is interpret as the house of God

This is a great story and a great learning curve as the journey lead Abram back to the place where he heard from God. We are all prone to wonder some times but returning to the place called the will of God is where we all will find ourselves if God is our real interest.
