Abrahamic journey pt3

So Abram return back to the place of worship at bethel which means “the house of God”
This place was a major landmark for Abram the place where he heard from God for the second time, do you remember where you last hear from God , what was his instruction

After Abraham settles in the land there arises the conflict!

Gen 13:6 The land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.
Gen 13:7 And quarreling arose between Abram’s herdsmen and the herdsmen of Lot. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.
Gen 13:8 So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and mine, for we are brothers.

Gen 13:12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom.

Abram a man of so much possessions in the midst of conflict appeared so light handed to evaluate the situation knowing the land was enough for every one to share after to allow lot his nephew to chose. I wonder if Abram was so grateful just to be there? was it enough rather than fighting for more control for the land?

What I’m taking from this first of all Abraham said no ~ we are “brethren”
Meaning he respected the relationship.
The second thing, it was all about Abrahams journey not lot…
Little did lot know his choice would set him up for danger…
Going east towards Ai , while Abram dwelt in the west , canaan the place the lord promised to bless him

It’s frighting to know that some relationships can hinder us hearing from God.

Gen 13:14 The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west.
Gen 13:15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring [fn] forever.

In conclusion: The lord says to Abram, take a walk around the land I will give to your descendants, so Abram would conceive the promise in his heart after Abram relocate to a new place called mamre which means strength or fatness, The region known as the plains of Hebron the building block of association with God and his community..

I’m learning that God wants us to enjoy the journey as we grow in character & faith trusting as we receive all the blessings that would accompany us on this amazing walk with the Author and creator of life as we consider the significance of Hebron.

Abrahamic journey pt2

Gen 12:9 Then Abraham set out and continued toward the Negev.
Gen 12:10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abraham went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.

Abram the name he was known by before the lord made a covenant with him, before he came into the revelation of the nature of God.
On his journey he made some mistakes, this learning curve was apart of the process for Abram to see himself & God revealing his nature, The God who supplies sustains & keeps his promises.

So what when wrong?

Well first of all I believe Abram
Didn’t conceive the thought of what God was trying to show him about the land to his seed as God appeared before and said

Gen 12:7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

The second thing a famine was a new experience for Abram considering where he came from his fathers wealthy country. Abram through this experience of famine decides to continued south towards Egypt only to lie about his wife being his sister “Abram was afraid”
If you think about it, was it God behind the famine indicating that Abram was going off track.

After leaving Egypt abram returning back to the place the lord showed him “bethel” which is interpret as the house of God

This is a great story and a great learning curve as the journey lead Abram back to the place where he heard from God. We are all prone to wonder some times but returning to the place called the will of God is where we all will find ourselves if God is our real interest.

“Life’s journey learning”

Abrahamic journey , PT1

Abraham’s journey has helped me throughout my years journeying spiritually in Christ.
The lord has taught me a lot considering where i’m coming from my experience through Gods word has been the catalyst for knowing the lord better. However the knowledge of the truth brings me joy to be able to share my experience also appreciate your to.

I Hope together we can comprehend the deep truths walking together with God ~ as the life of Abraham helps us along our own journey…

Gen 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

As Abram responded to the commission by God not knowing where he was going sounds quite challenging to me However I believe his disposition was inclined to Gods instructions as abram was a searcher of the stars inquisitive about the divine…

Verse 2,3 give us an amazing picture how God initiates the relationship between himself and Abram, offering the promise to his seed and the land that the lord would “show him”

Note the fact that the lord said a land that he would “show him”

Meaning Abrams would have to discern the place . When you take a closer look at the story God is amazing how he works with Abram, which is a reflection how he works with us or through us. I find the faith journey of Abraham often isn’t explained in context of the full story ~ understand that all the events or stages in Abram faith walk was a build up to the great faith Abraham responds to God as we see in the latter part of the story “Gen22

Key points
• the lord spoke to Abram (verbal)
• when the lord appeared he shows Abram the place ( visual )
which he very much believed as he followed the lord

Abram’s experience became a landmark for him to remember the promises of God as he built an altar of worship to mark his experience

Do you have a land mark of Gods promise or a great learning curve in your life?

Christmas reminds me of all the presents I’ve received…

Today can I share my list with you

To my surprise while I was angry bitter and unforgiving Christmas gave me peace ~

Blinded by my own self centred views of this world, Christmas showed me good will ~

When I sold out on my own values and the most important things my family taught me, Christmas demonstrated redemption ~ buying back everything I had wasted.

Acceptance doesn’t come cheep neither does Christmas ~ he accepted me just as I am, no performance, no longer people pleasing ~ just resting in his acceptance ~ .

The biggest present i received was SALVATION ~
Renewing my mind plus a new identity
A box of values and principles to live by

Shoes that reinforced that I’m worthy to be his Son ~

A garment stating I’m righteous ~ in his sight

To keep it all together ~ christmas gave me a belt of truth to remind me, I have a better life beyond this one…

The presence of Christ is the true meaning of Christmas for he will never leave you or forsake you…

“Fellowship is life”

Prayer isn’t just words ~ but good intention…

Seasoning of intention & good will

Awakens nostalgia…

Eating Laughing savouring the moment

United we stand divided we all fall

You consider me & I’ll consider you

Forgive me if I’ve annoyed any one

The word of my mouth can easily offend

So Lord help me consider my thoughts before I speak

The human heart is ever so tender

As we are likely to remember ~ not only what people say ~ but those moments
i felt ~ whatever…

These memories painted a picture

Evident through my behaviour…

Do you have those moments, considering why some people behave the way they do ?
