The latter & former rain

The prophetic book…

The realm of the prophetic reveal’s the mind of God for us to see not dimly but clearer in the midst of a crocked & perverse generation.

inspired by God …written by Pjgracecommunity

I’m so grateful for my salvation In Christ, looking back as I remember times of bad health and extreme weakness doubt and fear. It’s a miracle to be here in my right mind sharing writing these post. I believe I’ve been blessed with a few gifts as I always endeavour to be of service to others in the most simply of ways.
I remember the night I received the Grace of my lord Jesus Christ I was told by God to keep his words in my heart. Now i love the scriptures and try to eat as much as i can, like Ezekiel…

Proverbs chapter: 4 my first instruction from the lord which my book explain this experience in detail.

One gift I appreciate!! is the gift of discernment but I realise this gift has much more effect when one is filled with the word of God.

Discernment exposes or detect deception, mixed motive and the absence of the holy spirit influence especially when The word of God is missed used or wrongly interpreted.

The prophet Joel spoke of many things to come like judgement, repentance and Gods faithfulness to restore Israel.

As it is written, whosoever call upon the name of the lord will be saved but the point I want to address in this book is the former rain & latter rain Joel 2:23

The former rain begins in autumn or fall
The latter rain is in spring season

Joel 2:23 Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.

The former rain & the latter rain affirm the faithfulness of God to his people. The promise to restore them if they repent from there ways of apathy and self indulgence.

The latter rain is a symbol of refreshing for followers of christ & Gentiles, Acts 2

Joe 2:28 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

Joe 2:29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

The former rain for new seeds sown symbolic of Israel salvation in Christ , Matt 24:15,30

Joe 2:30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

Joe 2:31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.

The problem with this chapter some people think that a latter rain is still to come but as you read this chapter and correlate Act 2 the latter rain has come already but the terms former and latter seems confusing as different part of this statement relates to different times periods in history. Mind you the prophet use the nature seasons of life to visually paint a picture of Gods divine calendar.

The first out pour of rain we know happened on the day of Pentecost.

The second season of rain a sign, will come during tribulation when the church will be caught up.

We as Gentiles were grafted in to the blessing of Abraham who have already received the promise of the father the holy spirit. Many prophesies are now focus towards Israel Jeremiah 31:33-34 and many more other books like Zechariah. It time to be sure about our salvation without fret of fear knowing the lord will guide us to see his Glory.

the sign of Israel turing to the lord: zec 12:10

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

in conclusion

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Lord give us eyes to see but more so a heart of understanding as we await your coming…

beloved!
Maranatha ….

      • Hey sure no problem. I go back and forth on the Joel 2:28-31. However, now as I write this it seems future related. Especially with the end of verse 31 phrase, “before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.” Sounds like it is referring to the Tribulation. It very well could be as we approach the time of the Tribulation that the things in verse 28 happen. The other thing to consider is how would the church of Laodicea fit into this. May be the things in verse 28 refer to the beginning of the Tribulation. I need to go back and look it more. It is an interesting passage. Thanks.

      • Thanks dan for these points to consider please feel welcome to shed light on any thing I post because another perspective can only help!
