Why do people say Some Christians ain’t open minded?

One early morning as I was washing up this question came to mind in view of a discussion we had at work the dialogue was quite objective as i believe its always good to consider what impression we really give to the world, unbeliever or even believers

Can I speak for Christians

1) christian doctrine teaches to be separate from the worldly influence (kosmos) the system in terms of the values but we are not called to be separatist that’s extreme…

2) Christianity can be very much a culture void of the virtue of Christ obvious in some parts of the world…

3) Christianity has been used as a means of self gain or self development just as principal to improve one self which isn’t wrong if Jesus is the motivation behind it..

4)the main point why some people think Christians ain’t open minded because we value the one important influence that’s “Christ” his word his love his promises.
I respect all knowledge all understandings but I know what I value the most!!

Hbr 5:14 Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.

Maturity removes boundaries or self imposed limitations to recognise ones values that should govern ones life!
Not religion, tradition or laws of commandments

1Tim 1:9 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

What type of Christian are you?

“Fellowship is life”

  1. I think people generalize that Christians aren’t open minded because they often feel threatened when given questions and tend to answer the questions right away rather than truly asking them. I find that if people ask you How is possible for God to be perfect, omnipotent, and omniscient yet evil exists and we say: that the way it is. That’s being close minded. Christians, in general, seem unwilling to struggle with things but pick a simple answer and close the subject.

    • Or simply not mature enough to be honest to say I don’t know or i haven’t reached that level of learning yet.

It’s easy to criticise the world or other denominations but it’s good to look at the impression we are leaving behind us

I was taught a wise man considers everything with out an excuse but a mature man or women finds context for whats been said.

      Thanks for you comment: blessings
