Thyatira

This is a series: of the seven churches of revelation

Rev 2:18,29

Thyatira one of the seven churches of historical Asia which today is known as turkey

Before we compare this church to the western church there are some facts we need to place in context first

1) Thyatira was a state church governed by the roman empire

2) the tolerance pagan worship of foods and false mythology was a custom or a cultural practise in the state church

3) remember the influences are social in terms of community life which crept into the life of the church

4) these immoral practises are what’s called a subculture underneath the Authentic culture of Christ (the strategy of Satan) as Thyatira lived up to its name Rev 2:19

Rev 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Rev 2:25 But that which ye have [already] hold fast till I come.

The deception we much be careful of in the western world is the political influence, false prophetic teaching & the casual mix of state & church which isn’t based on the kingdom principal or teaching. When we proclaim the church shouldn’t reflect the world we must ask ourselves one question, where does our church structure Come from?
Is it the frame work of our political institution or the community culture of the five fold ministry…..
