“The significance of the jewish Bar mitzvah” on our western culture!!

To many that don’t know our Christian heritage is the bye product of one man journey, who learnt not just obedience but also what it really means to walk with God and trust every step, every decision, even when it seemed impossible, this man is Abraham the father of our Christian faith.
The Jewish religion is the result of this same man called abraham , if you don’t know the hebrew people through slavery in Egypt had no culture , after there deliverance every thing they learnt and practice was given to them by God himself. The cultural laws, the moral laws and the ceremonial law. There is one jewish law I’ll like to look at today called “Bar Mitzvah” which means boy or son, under the law ,the age when one is required to take up their responsibility as a young man or women at the age of twelve. I’m so fascinated by this because In the western world our young people seem to become responsible quiet late. I left home at 24 years old
Only then Learning to wash cook and clean for myself. The main point of the massage is the realising of one’s manhood or womanhood is so significant not just puberty but having that sense of purpose.
Some say life begin’s at forty, I can understand that theory but it’s a reality knowing that life’s experience is the final ingredient to make sense of all that we know or have learnt academically or the precious book we enjoy learning from.
Going back to my point this thing called purpose, when did you discover your life’s sense of purpose, what changed you paradigm?
For me life coaching has helped me so much, as the basis of coaching is very much about core values which has given me a clear perspective also options based around my passions.
The reason I’m writing about this because Jesus at twelve years did something amazing….

Luk 2:46 Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions.

Luk 2:47 All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

Luk 2:48 His parents didn’t know what to think. “Son,” his mother said to him, “why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been frantic, searching for you everywhere.”

Luk 2:49 “But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s business?

Luk 2:50 But they didn’t understand what he meant.

The Mystery behind this twelve year old boy was the fact that Both the listening, meaning finding context for what he heard & more importantly the Questions he asked. The proaction question we ask in life will respond back to us in the light of our purpose. Jesus discovered his purpose at twelve years old, by the things that griped his soul!, whats griping your soul today?
What ever it is, know that it can only come from the core of who you are, In relation to your purpose.
I have a post waiting, that explains why I always use the term live “life with definition “, it has a lot of history I will share soon.
So your purpose is hidden deep down beneath what ever makes you comfortable. Great people in history discovered their purpose through the tough times & discomfort of their situations like nelson Mandela
Martin Luther king JR & many more you know…. The list goes on.

in conclusion
Sometimes I think all these book about purpose doesn’t help, the whole thing about one’s purpose is a journey of daily discovery. The reality is some are ready and some ain’t but if your hungry for it you’ll find it. I believe its all lock up in one simple principle called “CORE VALUES”

Mat 7:7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Have a great day &” Live life with definition”
