A remarkable woman

Recently I keep hearing people talking about the remarkable women of the new testament,
Mary, who gave birth to Jesus
I give no exceptional preference to anybody past, present or future because God uses us all in different way for his glory. This story teaches me lot about a woman in relationship with God.
If we don’t understand relationships
This is a great story full of reflection
The unique thing about Mary she was young, untouched as we know, very cultured in the Jewish way of life who grew up in Nazareth the place where it was said “no good thing come out of that place. This was the same place where jesus couldn’t do any miracles.

The dialogue between Mary and the angel was one of awe and gratitude as she questioned politely “what is the reason for the visit” as she reflected and paused about the greeting.

“highly favoured one the lord is with You”

As the angel announced the good news that she would conceive and bring forth a child and he will save his people from their sins.

This conversation wasn’t a matter for reasoning but more about the response, have you every felt that way before?

She responded “Let it be to me according to your word

The defining factor for Mary wasn’t about emotions, reputation or her inability to conceive the thought, only to remembered the word, the prophetic writings the hope that Israel were looking for the Messiah. Mary response wasn’t just a humble submission, it was based on what she understood about the word of God.
After the visitation Mary sing a lovely psalm accepting “The word of the lord”

Luk 1:46 And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord

Luk 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Luk 1:48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,

Luk 1:49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me–holy is his name.

Luk 1:50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

Luk 1:51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

Luk 1:52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

Luk 1:53 He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

Luk 1:54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful

Luk 1:55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers.”

In conclusion, Mary was a woman of the word In contrast to eve in the garden who was moved by her senses under Satan’s deception wile Mary was moved by the word of God.
