Abram dwelt in Hebron the place of “association”
After some time war broke out in the land and fear took the king of sodom and the king of Gomorrah.
During the war Abram was informed About his nephew taken in the conflict
Gen 14:14 Now when Abram heard that his nephew was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan
The outcome of this pursuit was victory for Abram and the family of lot.
Abram demonstrates his service only in view of his relationship with God as he refuse any goods from the kings of sodom & Gomorrah least they say they made him rich.
The encounter Abram had with Melchizedek the king of Salem the representative of the host high was a reflection of his relationship with God as he gave tithes not as a command but as gratitude towards God who is his supplier.
What I’m learning from this chapter about Abram ,no matter what abundance of kindness or good fortune I come into, always be of service to others as God is my supplier of all I gain or achieve.
In conclusion
Phl 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Great point!
All of our encounters are a reflection of our relationship with God – either rich or lacking.
